On February 3, 2026, the Stadtcasino Basel will celebrateits 200th anniversary. At the same time, it will mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of its legendary concert hall, world-famous for its outstandingacoustics. These two anniversaries are not only an occasion to look back, but above all an invitation to celebrate together.
From Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, 2026, the Stadtcasino Basel will open its doors wide for a big, diverse, and accessible anniversary weekend. For three days, the entire concert hall will become a lively meeting place with music, dance, discussions, exhibitions, guided tours, culinary delights, and a program that goes far beyond the classical concert format.
The anniversary celebrations are aimed at everyone: music lovers and the curious, regulars and a new, younger audience, families, night owls, and those interested in culture. Together, we will celebrate the Stadtcasino Basel as a stylish location, a place of public benefit, and the heart of Basel's cultural landscape.
Friday, June 12, 2026 – History, insights, and a grand anniversary night
The opening day will be dedicated to the building and its history.
During the day, exhibitions, guided tours, lectures, and panel discussions invite visitors to get to know the Stadtcasino Basel from new perspectives – from architecture and acoustics to music history, monument preservation, and urban development to social and cultural discourse.
